BOISE, Idaho – Gov. Brad Little and USFS Chief Vicki Christiansen will officially open the Idaho Forest Restoration Partnership (IFRP) workshop on Tuesday morning, April 27. This year’s workshop focuses on “Collaboration from Administration to Administration.”
The two-day IFRP workshop, which runs April 27-28, will bring together forestry professionals, timber industry leaders, conservationists, private citizens, and other diverse stakeholders from across Idaho and the West, who work on local forest restoration collaboratives.
Forest collaboratives are composed of diverse groups of stakeholders who voluntarily come together to recommend actions that improve the management of natural resources and benefit both the environment and surrounding communities. IFRP has structured this virtual conference to include informative presentations, panel discussions on current issues, and interactive breakout sessions.
Idaho’s collaborative groups are committed to promoting forest restoration on federal lands and across borders through the Shared Stewardship Agreement between the U.S. Forest Service and the State of Idaho. National elections and new administrations may result in policy changes regarding public lands management. The conference will review the implications for collaborative groups engaged in restoring Idaho’s forests, watersheds, and rural economies.

The Idaho Conservation League is Idaho’s leading voice for conservation — for the clean water, clean air, special places, and fish and wildlife that make Idaho’s exceptional quality of life possible. We participate in collaborative projects and partnerships across the state to help develop and implement policies that help restore and sustain Idaho’s clean air, clean water, public lands, fish and wildlife, and the communities that depend on them.
The IFRP is a coalition of organizations and individuals that have come together to support collaborative forest restoration in Idaho. The IFRP is composed of forestry professionals, timber industry leaders, and conservationists. Partners include ICL, Society of American Foresters (SAF) Snake River Chapter, The Nature Conservancy in Idaho, Trout Unlimited, Riley Stegner and Associates, and the Idaho Forest Group. IFRP’s mission is to connect, inform, and support collaborative groups working to restore the resilience of Idaho forests.
