The city of Boise’s foothills open space includes 14 reserves. In total, the city manages roughly 5,000 acres and miles of trails within its reserves, all differing in elevation and accessibility. The reserve ecosystems include riparian habitat, grassland and alpine forests and they are home to creatures large and small.
