Do you want to help protect Lake Pend Oreille for now and future generations? Join the Water Quality Monitoring Program! Our next training is May 10th, 5:30pm – 6:30pm PST.
The Water Quality Monitoring Program (WQMP) is a consistent, long-term monitoring effort to measure water quality across Lake Pend Oreille and the Pend Oreille River. This is a citizen-science initiative led by dedicated community volunteers. The program’s goals are to inform the public and provide high-quality scientific data that regulatory agencies can use when making water quality-based decisions for our local waterways. Each site is evaluated for 11 different biological, chemical, and physical tests, and monitoring occurs once a month from May through September.
To participate in this program, volunteers are required to attend a training at Windbag Marina. Registration is not required, and you do not need to bring any materials with you to this training. It may be chilly by the water in the evening, so please keep that in mind if you plan on attending!

We hope to see you there!
