Courtney Hamilton
Philanthropy Liaison
Born in the Wood River Valley, Courtney is a fifth-generation Idahoan who grew up skiing, biking and backpacking her way through central Idaho. After graduating from Pomona College with a B.A. in Public Policy Analysis, she spent time traveling and practicing her Spanish language skills, but never did find a place that felt quite like her childhood home among the Pioneer, Smoky, Boulder, White Cloud, and Sawtooth Mountains.
Courtney comes to ICL with roots from the far north to the far south of Idaho and wide-ranging experience from event planning to green building. She looks forward to building relationships and helping move the needle in conservation in Idaho so that future generations can enjoy the same wild childhood that she had.
Courtney’s passion for her community led her to successfully run for Ketchum City Council in 2017, and she continues to hold that role as well as several local board positions in the Wood River Valley. In her free time, Courtney skis, climbs, bikes, runs, floats, skates, and gardens her way through life with her husband Niels and dog Baxter in tow.
Picking her favorite place in Idaho is an impossible ask, but she got married beneath the Ponderosas at Groundhog Camp on the Main Salmon River, so that spot will forever hold a special place in Courtney’s heart.
