Sarah Plane
Community Organizer - Salmon Mobilization Team
Sarah grew up in Idaho with fond outdoor memories exploring Redfish Lake, the Tetons, Bear Lake, the Sawtooths, and Lake Cocolalla. Since graduating from Boise High School, Sarah and her husband have traveled and moved around the world, exploring the outdoors in each place. Sarah received her Masters in Linguistics from the University of Sydney, Australia after doing fieldwork in Southern China. Her background in Applied Research has served her in various roles from academia to healthcare architecture.
Sarah recently shifted gears and decided to follow her childhood dream to work in conservation. With a love for scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and anything else that gets her out on the water, she wants to spend more of her time helping to preserve and protect the ecosystems and wildlife that make the natural beauty around us. As a Community Organizer with ICL’s Salmon Mobilization Team, Sarah focuses on building grassroots support for Lower Snake River dam removal and connecting more people to ICL’s mission and conservation work.
When she is not out on the water, you can find Sarah volunteering on the Board of Wild Hearts Idaho, making pottery, or spending time with her husband and two golden retrievers.
